The 24-year-old, a former Orlando Pirates player, is weighing up his options as Stars and Chippa prepare for talks when the transfer window opens in January.
Freese tells KickOff.com that Twala has been a Dikwena target for a long time.
"We have always wanted to sign Twala," Freese says. "When Thuso Phala left us [for SuperSport United] we tried to bring him in, but we did not win.
“He is an effective winger, an experienced player, and I think he can really blend into this team. He is a real quality player, but let’s see if his club will be willing to talk to us.”
Twala's contract with Chippa will only run out in 2017, meaning that Dikwena will have to fork out a substantial amount of money if they hope to bring him to their camp.
Freese also reveals that he will be looking to offload some of his players to make way for the possible arrival of Twala and other new signings.
"We will discuss the issue when the time is right," he says.
